Alliance Abroad Group J-1 Job Fair

Alliance Abroad Group, a J-1 visa sponsor placing candidates into internship and trainee programmes with US hospitality employers, engaged Visio Productions to film and photograph an in-person job fair at the International Hotel School in Salt River, Cape Town. The event connected culinary and front-desk candidates with host company Marriott International, recruiting for rotations at the Orlando World Center Marriott, Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa, and The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale.

The day ran from early host-company interviews and a school tour through to a presentation on the J-1 programme, before moving into the candidate-facing sessions: a culinary cooking demonstration judged by the host company's chef, and verbal interviews for front-desk positions. Visio's brief was to document the full flow of the day - presentations, the Alliance Abroad team, candidate portraits, and close, hands-on coverage of the cooking demonstration - while keeping some footage free of candidate faces for the client's own future recruitment marketing.

Following the brief used for previous Alliance Abroad recruitment fairs internationally, the edit favours b-roll over talking heads: close-ups and over-the-shoulder shots of plating and knife work, subtle branding, and a host company interview to add context. Visio delivered the footage unbranded and without music, for Alliance Abroad's marketing team to score and brand in-house, alongside three short-form cuts for social media and a longer highlight video.
