The Art of Survival began as a small independent documentary project and is now streaming on Showmax - a milestone that took years of shooting, editing, and persistence to reach.
A story that demanded patience
Documentary work of this kind can't be scheduled the way a commercial shoot can - we returned to the same communities over an extended period, building trust and waiting for the story to reveal itself rather than forcing a narrative onto the footage.

Some of our most rewarding documentary work has come from a similar approach applied closer to home - spending real time with a community rather than parachuting in for a single afternoon, whether that's a rural family or a group of schoolchildren whose story deserves more than a passing glance.

Getting broadcast-ready for Showmax
Meeting a major platform's technical and editorial standards meant a full re-grade and sound remaster on top of the original edit - a reminder that broadcast delivery is its own specialised stage of post-production, distinct from the creative edit.

Seeing an independent project reach a national streaming audience is exactly why we keep making documentary work alongside our commercial projects - it's a different discipline, and one worth protecting.
