Behind The Scenes
Produced by Visio, in association with Seed Media and FullFilm Productions, this video is one of our personal favourites, for being able to tell a part of an ongoing story of hope, which we are closely connected to. As well as being the founding member of Sterling EQ, Carina Bruwer is also an advocate for artists’ rights and a patron for Muzukidz, a Cape Town NPO that brings hope through music. Not only did this video give the organisation significant exposure, it also gave the children the memorable experience of being “on set”, and it holds some important messaging of not only hope and aspiration, but also hard work and sacrifice.
It was that feeling that he wanted the shoes, like Brandon in the movie. He’s got what he wants, but it’s a false victory. Then the real emotional impetus being when my brother saw my face and was like, “Well, it’s okay, you’re a man now.” It made me proud for a split second and then extremely sad. In retrospect, I look back on it and was like “That’s bullshit.
